Inspired by a traditional Middle Eastern confection, we've made our Almond-Date Dark Chocolate Hedgehogs with the best organic Medjool dates from the southern tip of California, organic roasted almonds and coconut, and a ultra smooth coating of Ecuadorian dark chocolate.

Each package contains three Almond-Date Hedgehogs in a compostable cellophane bag.

Ingredients: Organic Medjool Dates, Organic Almonds, Ecuadorian 55% Dark Chocolate, (Cocoa Liquor, Cocoa Butter, Sugar, Soy Lecithin, and Vanilla), Organic Coconut, Dairy Free White Chocolate, (Vegan Cane Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Sunflower Lecithin, Vanilla, Dextrose, Tragacanth Gum, [Natural Thickner], Natural Flavor.

A most unique confection!

Here's a blend of flavors that beautifully complement each other and are presented in a whimsical fashion. One cannot help but smile at the sight of them, then with a bite be immersed in the mix of delicate but complex flavors. Outstanding!

Hedgehogging is what I did after my first bite of these perfect, compact desserts. The mix of flavors and textures provide an event for your tastebuds - crunchy nuts in a chewy but not-too-sweet date surrounded by silky dark chocolate and tiny covering of shaved coconut. You won't want to share. Now I need to buy more treats as I've eaten the ones I intended to give!

From our kitchen to yours

Kate Shaffer, artistic director and founder of Ragged Coast Chocolates, started making exquisite confections in her tiny, home kitchen on Isle Au Haut, Maine eight years ago.
